Today, the biggest threat to everyone around the globe is the Coronavirus Disease 2019 or COVID-19. Veterinary care is considered an essential service during the pandemic. The presentations will tackle the measures that need to be taken to reduce the risk of exposure of workers and clients in veterinary facilities. As the pandemic changes the landscape of veterinary practice and the clients’ behavior, established and novel approaches in veterinary care have been seen in the local setting during the COVID-19 pandemic. These trends gave us hope that sustainable veterinary care can be attained during the pandemic with consideration to the safety of veterinary workers and clients. Feline and canine coronaviruses are widespread among dog and cat populations but rarely infect humans. However, aside from the endemic coronavirus infection in these species, recent cases of COVID-19 infection among pet animals have been reported. This lecture will also focus on effect of most common coronaviruses in our pets.
