PAMET INternship Assistance and Scholarship (PINAS) Program

The PINAS Program is an inaugural scholarship program of the Philippine Association of Medical Technologists, celebrating its 60 years in service. This scholarship program aims to support financially challenged but academically gifted Medical Technology students in their local internship rotation. The program is named PINAS to help augment the need for Medical Technologists in the country. Six slots will be allotted for the year 2024, of which one slot is allotted for interns of each of the six regional divisions of PAMET (Northern Luzon, Southern Luzon, Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Southern Mindanao, and NCR). Recipients of the said scholarship program are entitled to receive 60,000 pesos as assistance for internship-related expenses such as tuition, affiliation fees, lodging, and transportation.

Applications will be accepted until June 15, 2024.

Requirements:

  1. Must be a bonafide incoming Medical Technology intern of a PASMETH Member School (AY 2024-2025) in a CHED-accredited training laboratory.
  2. Must not have any grade below 85 or equivalent during the first three years in the Medical Technology program.
  3. Must be certified in need of financial assistance by the Dean/Program Chair.
  4. Students with scholarships are welcome to apply if no conflict exists in their contract.

Guidelines and Mechanics:

  1. Interested students must fill up the link provided with the required attachments:
    • 2x2 Studio Picture (White background)
    • Certified True Copy of Grades from 1st to 3rd year (including 2nd semester or 3rd trimester grade)
    • Letter of Application explaining the need for assistance with signature of approval from the Dean/Program Chair
  2. Finalists for the scholarship program will be contacted on or before June 30, 2024.
  3. A 100-item exam will be given covering all Medical Technology Licensure Examination courses. The exam administration shall be scheduled based on the finalist's PAMET Chapter location with the assistance of local chapter officers.
  4. An online interview shall also be conducted to select the deserving finalists. A 3-member panel shall be invited to conduct the interview. Finalists must have a stable internet connection and turn on their cameras during the online interview.
  5. The financial assistance and medal shall be awarded to the selected scholars during the following PAMET Events:

      PAMET 17th Northern Luzon Regional Conference
      Baliwag City, Bulacan
      July 12-14, 2024
    • Northern and Southern Mindanao Scholars
      PAMET 16th Mindanao Regional Conference
      Tandag City, Surigao del Sur
      August 29-30, 2024
    • NCR Scholar
      PAMET Laboratory Management Congress
      September 16, 2024

  6. Selected scholars shall also be invited to attend the PAMET Annual Convention on December 2-4, 2024, at the Manila Hotel, City of Manila.
  7. The selected scholars shall maintain good academic standing and shall have no failing grade during the 4th year level.
